Contributor Vince Tuckwood drops his new album!
Author/musician Vince Tuckwood has just released his brand new album Turquoise Cyan Sapphire. As a long time collaborator and contributor to the Boutique Empire team we are pleased to share it with you. A strong move forward with his writing and performing, Turquoise Cyan Sapphire offers an update on his former music and sees his production step up on all sides. As he put it in his own blog, these songs represent the closest he feels comfortable to playing traditional Blues bases songs. Thus the blue tinged title to the work!
Vince has even enlisted his daughter on trumpet on a couple of the songs making this release the first Tuckwood multigenerational album. Have a listen for yourself, and of course if you enjoy it please feel free to purchase a copy to encourage more music from Vince in the future!

Records in my Life: Tops
A few days ago, in partnership with Northern Transmissions, we had the pleasure of filming an interview with Arbutus Records recording artists TOPS for an episode of Records in My Life. The band was hilarious in person and so enthusiastic about the music they loved. Check out the video below. This is something that might become an ongoing series with touring acts being interviewed in Zulu Records, hosted by Charles Brownstein of Northern Transmissions and recorded and edited by Mark Henning (Boutique Empire).

Pop Music: Katch- Sweatpants
Last year Jordy Birch and Mark Henning wrote and produced a track for Los Angeles pop group Katch. The song, Sweatpants, has just been released on Jordy's brand new label Van City Records. It has already received a shout out from rapper T.Pain on Twitter and has been featured on Atlanta pop station Power 96. There are a lot of people very excited about this song, so hopefully it'll be breaking the airwaves in Canada soon as well. Check out the instragram click for a taste or click thru to the band's Soundcloud account for a full listen.
