Records In My Life: Tor MIller
We met with Tor Miller while he was on tour with Aurora in the spring. He was a very confident young man, with some good stories and a solid perspective on his music and inspirations. He cited a several classic albums in his interview, Ziggy Stardust from Bowie, Harvest from Neil Young and let us know that Bruce Springsteen isn't much of a driver! I suspect he has a bright future: his album will be coming out in September.
This Tor Miller episode of Records In My Life referenced the following albums:
1. David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
2. Queen - Greatest Hits I & II
3. Neil Young - Harvest
4. Tame Impala - Currents
5. Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town
Records In My Life is produced and hosted by Charles Brownstein
Videography, direction, editing by Mark Henning

Records In My Life: Dragonette
This week's episode features Dan and Martina from the band Dragonette, who joined us backstage at the Vogue Theater before their performance here in Vancouver. The couple were extremely fun to hang out with and we had a good time filming this episode of Records In My Life. Martina shared her love of Nick Lowe, who she did meet and still carries his number around with her, while Dan spoke of his childhood in Brazil and his love of Paul McCartney and Sting as influencers to his bass style. Another good shoot with inspired artists. Fun.

Pop Music: Katch- Sweatpants
Last year Jordy Birch and Mark Henning wrote and produced a track for Los Angeles pop group Katch. The song, Sweatpants, has just been released on Jordy's brand new label Van City Records. It has already received a shout out from rapper T.Pain on Twitter and has been featured on Atlanta pop station Power 96. There are a lot of people very excited about this song, so hopefully it'll be breaking the airwaves in Canada soon as well. Check out the instragram click for a taste or click thru to the band's Soundcloud account for a full listen.
